چکیده
Background: Increased plasma levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) have been identified as predictors cardiac dysfunction and prognosis in congestive heart failure ischemic disease. In severe sepsis patients, however, no information is available yet about the prognostic value peptides Egyptian patients. Aim: The aim present work to study relationship between amino-terminal pro-BNP, C-reactive protein one hand severity organ mortality on admission other patient with septic shock.Patients methods: This population consisted ninety patients aged >18 years, who were admitted internal medicine department ICU, Kasr El-Aini Hospitals, Cairo University enrolled within 24 hours ICU sepsis, shock, acute decompensated developed while ICU. divided 3 groups, Group I (septic shock), group II (severe sepsis) III (heart failure). Plasma N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide CRP measured. Results: There was higher level (69.56 ± 38.01) compared (41.70 25.34) a significant p (0.002). NTproBNP (2809.73 2362.32 pg/ml) (2595.13 1968.39 (789.37 348.01pg/ml) statistically valueConclusion: NT-pro BNP values are increased shock. Values significantly non survivors than survivors. Elevated concentrations serum indicators an risk shock death.

Evaluation of Serum Levels of N-terminal Pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide and Atrial Natriuretic Peptide in Neonates with Respiratory Distress
Background: Acute respiratory distress (ARD) is a critical respiratory failure due to lung injury of neonates leading to the clinical appearance of poor lung compliance. The aimed of the study was to evaluate the diagnostic values in differentiating respiratory from heart diseases with using of N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP) and Atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) in neonates...

متن کاملPro-atrial natriuretic peptide (pro-ANP) level in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock: prognostic and diagnostic significance
BACKGROUND To establish the prognostic and discriminative value of the pro-atrial natriuretic peptide (pro-ANP) level in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. PATIENTS AND METHODS An observational and prospective study was conducted on 50 critically ill patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. Measurements of the level of procalcitonin (PCT) and mid-regional pro-ANP were determined...
متن کاملN-terminal-pro-brain natriuretic peptide predicts outcome after hospital discharge in heart failure patients.
BACKGROUND Heart failure (HF) is responsible for a huge burden in hospital care. Our goal was to evaluate the value of N-terminal-pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in predicting death or hospital readmission after discharge of HF patients. METHODS AND RESULTS We included 182 patients consecutively admitted to hospital because of decompensated HF. Patients were followed up for 6 months...
